Living Life Your Way

Living Life Your Way

“Do you live to work or work to live?” And perhaps even more importantly, whichever answer you gave, is that out of choice?

As Britain begins the mass return to work after the extended festivities, how many of us will return with a spring in our step, eager to get back to a job that we love?

According to a recent survey, Unum’s 2007 Job Satisfaction research found that a third of UK workers were dissatisfied with their current job, and over half were unhappy with their career progression opportunities.

Put another way, at least a third of us would rather be doing something else than our current job and over half of us do not feel particularly optimistic about the future!

The biggest drop identified in the survey was seen in the level of employees’ satisfaction with the amount of autonomy in their role, which was down to 47% in 2007.

This makes particularly depressing reading, since many of us will spend up to half our waking hours at our jobs throughout our working lives, and yet so few end up feeling truly fulfilled.

So the question is, “Are you living your life your way?”

One person who decided that she definitely wasn’t is a young lady called Vicky Allison. She decided at the tender age of just 21 that the corporate world, and the Sales job she had held for the last 5 years just wasn’t for her.

To read Vicky’s story, and to discover how Vicky changed her life to live it her way and on her terms, I would highly recommend that you get yourself a copy of her highly motivational and inspiring eBook, “Live Your Life Your Way.”
